Eugene, Oregon "Finding This Mind" ~
One Day Seminar in Eugene on Buddhist Truth & Knowledge

A full day of teaching, one day only. Free of charge.

Having a mind is at once our most immediate reality and our most mysterious relation. All schools of Buddhism emphasize the investigation of mind as the key to realizing true happiness.

Why is this so? Why is mind considered so important in Buddhism? What is mind? And what is to be found through the investigation of mind?

In this one day seminar, Tibetan Buddhist scholar and meditation master Dzogchen Khenpo Choga Rinpoche will give six hours of teachings on the subject of "Finding the Mind."   Teachings will be sequential and lead the student from basic concepts to more advanced topics, and will include intervals of meditation throughout the day.

These, and all of Rinpoche's teachings, are offered free of charge. However, space is limited and pre-registration is required for this event.

If you would like to come, please contact the Dzogchen Dharma Center in advance to secure your reservation.

Wandering Faith and Endless Doubt -
Scrubbing the Two Tired Faces of Thinking's Blind Belief
One Day Buddhist Teaching in Eugene on Thinking, Mind and Being

Religions, philosophies, governments and individuals all profess different beliefs --- beliefs whose contents constantly change, evolve and decline. The background to these different strategies of thought is the fact of thinking itself, and especially the fact that beings from bugs to philosophers believe adamantly and automatically in the act of their own thinking. Why is this?

Thinking and Belief
An intimate talk with Tibetan Meditation Master Dzogchen Khenpo Choga Rinpoche

From wandering faith to endless doubt, all beings automatically and adamantly believe in their own thinking—blindly professing beliefs in different religions, philosophies, politics, and cultural ideologies. Without understanding how thinking works, beings hold on to these beliefs whose contents constantly change, evolve, and decline. Knowing with certainty what is thinking, mind, and being, we no longer build sand castles of false hopes and fears at the edge of the seas of change.

 --------------------PUBLIC TEACHING---------------

The Heart of True Happiness
A Public Talk by Tibetan Meditation Master Dzogchen Khenpo Choga Rinpoche

Our thinking has a natural tendency to avoid suffering and attain happiness. If this natural tendency becomes vast and compassionate, it turns into Bodhicitta, the mind of enlightenment. This is true happiness. Tonight’s teaching will focus on how to generate Bodhicitta according to the teachings of 8th Century Buddhist Master Shantideva.

My Five Positive Thinking Only
An intimate talk with Tibetan Meditation Master
Dzogchen Khenpo Choga Rinpoche

There are many types of thinking that we engage in as we traverse the moments along our path to the realization of our own Buddha nature. Reducing negative thinking to the zero point is accomplished by increasing our thinking of renunciation, compassion, faith, loving kindness and wisdom. What exactly are these "five positive thinking," and how can we engage Dharmic postive thinking for the benefit of all sentient beings, including our selves?

Due to the limited space for seating in the live audience in Marin City, and the limited number of simultaneous listeners on the Internet, pre-registration is required.

All of the proceeds recieved for this event will go to support the Dzogchen Retreat Center USA Project.

Belief Systems and Single Present Thinking
An intimate talk with Tibetan Meditation Master
Dzogchen Khenpo Choga Rinpoche

Despite wandering faith and endless doubt, all beings have a tendency to automatically and adamantly believe in their own thinking—blindly professing to beliefs in different philosophies, political systems, cultural ideologies and religions. Without understanding how thinking operates, we grasp on to beliefs whose contents constantly arise, evolve, and decline. Once we realize with certainty what exactly is our thinking, and what this realization means to our path in life, we will no longer make sand castles—built of false hopes and fears—at the edge of the sea of change.

Due to the limited space for seating in the live audience in Marin City, and the limited number of simultaneous listeners on the Internet, pre-registration is required.

All of the proceeds recieved for this event will go to support the Dzogchen Retreat Center USA Project.
