Dzogchen Khenpo Choga Rinpoche

Last updated: June 4, 2014

The Dzogchen Shri Singha Foundation is pleased to announce our 2014 Dzogchen Urban Summer Retreat Series in San Diego under the guidance of Hazlitt and Tina, each authorized as Dharma Teacher of The Buddha Path by His Eminence Dzogchen Khenpo Choga Rinpoche. This nine-day retreat series will be held at the Dharma Bum Temple in downtown San Diego, during the second half of June. This series of four daylong urban retreats, one five-day retreat, and an evening fire puja are all offered entirely FREE of charge. These events present an ideal opportunity to deepen your understanding and experience of the teachings of Buddha as preserved within the authentic Dzogchen Lineage.

The Dzogchen Urban Summer Retreat Series in San Diego will commence on Friday, June 20, 2014 and conclude on Sunday, June 29, 2014. This year’s teaching and training will include in-depth teachings and practice instructions on the sacred text The Buddha Path. Many foundational Buddhist principles will be reviewed and explored, and the retreat will include many practices including mantra recitation, reciting sacred text, visualizations, music making, light offerings, and food offerings.

The retreat is free, and seating is limited at the Temple, so please register early.

About the Retreat Series

You may attend any one or more of the following six events in the series. You are encouraged to attend all six events, but attendance at one event is not a prerequisite to attend another event. Note that within each event, you need to commit to attending the entire event. The reason for this is so that students will not receive incomplete teachings and therefore hold broken messages.

You are permitted to leave early from an event if you have an emergency, but unless you have advance permission to do so from the retreat director and teachers, you cannot miss part of a session and then return to the same event. However, you can join the next event in the series.

When making your travel plans, please plan your schedule so that you arrive on site before the starting time of the event(s) you plan to attend. You are encouraged to come earlier or stay after the retreat to help us with preparations and clean-up of the Temple.

For the four daylong retreats, there will be a few short breaks but no full meal break. Please bring snacks for yourself or to share. For the five-day retreat, lunch will not be provided, but you may bring your lunch or go out to lunch nearby.

Please join us for these joyful Dharma teachings and invite your friends and family!
